Né en 1978 à Matale au Sri Lanka, Indika commence des études en Arts Dramatique au sein du Centre d’Education Maya Shakti de Colombo au Ski Lanka. Puis, il poursuit des études à l’Université du visuel et des arts du spectacle.



Au fil de son parcours professionnel, il participe à differentes expositions et festivals comme,l’exposition “ Nawa Kalakarowo “ d’arts visuel , exposition de peintures et de sculptures au Thilanka Hotel, exposition “ Constalation “, exposition d’art contemporain jeune visuel à la Galerie d’Arts au Sri Lanka, et obtient également le prix du mérite pour peinture créative à l'art Etat et le festival de sculpture au Sri Lanka.

Concernant son profil d’acteur, Indika Wijerathne commence son parcours en 2001 en étant nominé pour le meilleur acteur pour le prix spécial du meilleur second rôle de "Siridasage Kathawa" au festival de court métrage de fiction de " Wdikawen Mahapolowata" à l’Université du Sri Jayawardhanapura. Puis en 2002, il obtient le prix de mérite pour une  pièce de théâtre de "Wassa Thuranwenakam" au festival de "Vishwa Bhomika" à l'institut d'études esthétiques de l’Université de "Kalaniya". En 2005 il devient meilleur Acteur pour "Siriyawathi Marila" au festival de court métrage de fiction de "Wedikawen Mahapolowata" à l’Université de Sri Jayawardana Pura.

Then in 2002, he won the Merit Award for a play of "Wassa Thuranwenakam" festival "Vishwa Bhomika" at the Institute of Aesthetic Studies at the University of "Kalaniya." In 2005, he became best Actor for "Siriyawathi Marila" festival of short fiction "Wedikawen Mahapolowata" at the University of Sri Jayawardana Pura.
